According to the latest NETendances survey released today by Laval University’s Academy of Digital Transformation (ATN), one in two internet users in Quebec (52%) has already used a generative artificial intelligence tool. This represents a 19-percentage-point increase over the past year. The survey, titled “Generative Artificial Intelligence,” also reveals an increase in usage: 54% of users report using such tools at least once a week, compared to 38% the previous year.

“This increase in usage reflects a shift from curiosity to everyday use: AI is no longer seen as an abstract technology or one reserved for experts, but as a practical tool that can be used in daily life,” notes Professor Jean-François Lalonde, associate scientific director of the Intelligence and Data Institute at Laval University and a guest expert for the survey.
